| Importance of Media in Global Industry |
|
“The last two decades of the 20th century has witnessed a rapid shrinking of the world. The advent of new technologies has cut across distance, enabling enterprises to pursue business in the international market more effectively and efficiently.
The field of communication technologies has seen the convergence of internet, cable, satellite television and radio, which has facilitated transfer of information in large volumes, smoothly and swiftly. In the wake of increased competition in all walks of life and the proliferation of channel communication, management of information and communication started being recognized as an integral part of policy making, governance of strategic management by governments, corporates and civil societies alike. Against this backdrop for both individuals and corporate houses for whom the task has not been restricted to monitoring information flow from just one stream.
As the distinctions between journalism, advertising, broadcasting and public relations blurred, the greater challenge has become to synchronize and manage thr flow of information from various streams. This is a task that requires a holistic understanding of the different media as tools and technologies.
The industry requires a new genre of communication managers with an understanding of how organizations are structured and managed. “ Education Times Authored by Neeraj, Daftuar |
